Here are some conversation questions to get you started.
Important Definitions
When talking about family, you need to know these definitions:
Nuclear Family means two parents and children.
The single-parent family means one parent raising one or more children on his own.
The extended family means the nuclear family plus grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members that do not necessarily live in the same home.
A blended family means parents with children from previous relationships come together as one unit.

What are the biggest sources of conflict within a family?
What does your family like to do together?
How does your family relax?
What does your family do for fun?
What will you teach your children? (what values, beliefs, hobbies, skills, etc.)
Are you pressured by your family to act in a certain way?
How can you be yourself and have a good relationship with your family?
How can your overcome poor communication within your family?
How do you build trust within a family?
What are some things that your parents did that you would never do?
Would you like to raise your children in the way that you were raised?
What qualities would you like to have as a father/mother?
